A man has been arrested for human trafficking.

Aruna Momoh has been arrested by police in Bo on suspicion of being a human trafficker.

Aruna Momoh is now being held at the Bo West Police Division, according to A-Z Newspaper, for trying to extort a diamond miner coworker for a sum equal to about 500,000,000 Old Leones.

Aruna Momoh was allegedly seeking to exchange his colleague for the specified sum, according to information provided by the Bo West Police Division's Constable 19138 Alhaji Usman Mansaray.

The incident, he continued, was initially brought to the attention of the Bo East Police Division before being forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Department.

He emphasized that the alleged traffickers were in contact with one Chief Ishmael Koroma in order for him to purchase his colleague before they moved to Bo.

According to additional reports, Chief Ishmael Koroma, who has been charged with cannibalism as a way of clearing his name, wasted no time in informing the police about Aruna Momoh's intentions to sell his colleague by calling them to his house.

Further, the Police went undercover with a plain cloth to Chief Koroma's residence to purchase Usman Sesay. The chief trafficker made a deposit of NL 1,000 and committed to paying the remaining amount when they went to see his boss in town.

When they drove to the police station and detained the trafficker, they were on their way into town in Chief Koroma's vehicle.

Usman Sesay, the victim, is going about his regular business while also assisting the police with their investigation. The suspected trafficker has refuted the claim that he sold his coworker for at least 500,000,000 old leones.

According to additional reports, the Police went to chief Koroma's residence undercover with a plain cloth to purchase Usman Sesay. The Chief agreed to pay the whole amount when they went to see his boss in town and paid the trafficker a deposit of NL1,000.

When they drove to the police station and detained the trafficker, they were on their way into town in Chief Koroma's vehicle.

The situation has been looked into in the interim, and a file has been sent.
